The State Government has just announced at as of 1 July there will be a return to community sport for 18&U’s. We will notify further as more details become available and the impact this will have with our approvals from Sutherland Council.
Again, thank you everyone for your patience. It won’t be long now!!
Karen Salter and SSNA Executive - 02June 2020
The following has been received from Netball NSW CEO Carolyn Campbell Friday May 15th. However until Dept of Sport guidelines are issued and SSNA have protocols in place Sutherland Council will not permit training. Prue Haberecht, SSNA Secretary.
To all Associations
Thank you again for your patience on the guidelines for a return to activity in groups of 10 or less.
Today the NSW Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order (No 2) 2020 came into effect which allows for gatherings of up to 10 people. This will enable netball training to re-commence, however still without any body contact drills. Importantly, Associations are advised that the restrictions applied to netball allow for a maximum of 10 people on a court at any one time. This includes players plus any coaches, parents, spectators, etc. The 10 person per court limit cannot be exceeded at any time.
Attached to this email is a simple one-page summary of the restrictions which apply to returning to training with 10 person groups. Also attached is an infographic which summarises the Guidelines for Netball Activity under the 10 person restrictions. You are encouraged to make copies of these documents and display them prominently at your courts.
Finally, earlier today Netball Australia released comprehensive documents and infographics around the Return to Netball. I strongly encourage you to review the contents of the Return to Netball section at www.netball.com.au/return-to-netball and download the information for use at your Association and Clubs. Please also note that currently NSW sits at Level B - Stage 1 on the Venue Guidelines matrix included on the Netball Australia site.
As always, the most important thing to us is that netballers in NSW stay healthy. Please follow the guidelines so that we can play our part in moving NSW towards the further easing of restrictions in the weeks to come.
Please feel free to direct any enquiries to myself, Darren Simpson, Lauren Woods or Melissa Achten.
Enjoy your weekend and the first steps back to netball.
